Further information on Morzine Mountain Biking
Between Mont Blanc and Leman's lake, Morzine-Avoriaz is in the heart of the world's biggest MTB
area, the Portes du Soleil.
In the 1990s Morzine-Avoriaz was among the first resorts to think about using the ski area for
summer MTB - the Pleney’s now iconic DH opened in 1996.
All summer, 22 MTB-friendly lifts are open to take you up to the peaks on the Franco-Swiss border.
Race downhill, pedal at your own rhythm or just take it easy... there really is something for all levels
of riders here...
As Morzine is in a valley, most of the Portes du Soleil's cycle tracks that start at the top of cable
cars and chairlifts lead back down into Morzine. In the village itself, there is a real MTB buzz, with
all the necessary services, specialist bike shops with qualified staff, and great 'après-MTB'.
12 linked resort/villages - 22 lifts - 650km of MTB trails - 1 MTB tour over 80km - 10 bike parks
or special MTB area - Dozens of downhill runs - 15 MTB schools - 25 specialist MTB hire shops.
